ISAT is a 3-hour, online, multiple-choice assessment independently developed by the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER)

Test window dates for 2025

Test window 1: 13 – 24 January 2025 (23-24 resits)

Test window 2: 28 April – 9 May 2025 (8 & 9 resits)

Test window 3: 28 July – 8 August 2025 (7 & 8 resits)

Test window 4: 27 October – 7 November 2025 (6 & 7 resits)

Note: The last 2 days of each test window will be used for resits only.

The registration fee for ISAT is AUD430. Payment is made to ACER at the time of registration.

Critical reasoning

Involves comprehending and analysing information, understanding, applying and extending ideas, drawing appropriate conclusions, and evaluating arguments. These questions use material from the humanities and social sciences.

Quantitative reasoning

Involves analysis and application of information, drawing conclusions and making decisions, and solving problems. These questions use material from the mathematics and sciences.
